Engineering Students Contributions to and Use of Lifting and Rigging Hardware, Hoist Rings
Engineering Students and Hoist Rings
We see engineering students becoming involved in lifting and rigging provides a critical part of our field’s growth. Their involvement provides opportunities for the design and development of hardware, which can revolutionize current rigging methods. Highly recognized schools such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Purdue University, and Georgia Institute of Technology teach students the physics of loading and lifting. This understanding can be applied in practice to create safe lifting and rigging environments. Engineering students are essential to the design and testing of lifting points. As ADB continues to innovate, lifting and rigging, we hope schools allow students to experience ADB equipment. Familiar with this rigging hardware design and application, the students can specify the hoist ring and include the solid model in many applications.
